DHL Global Forwarding will occupy more than 17,000 square feet in Carteret under a new lease agreement secured by Bussel Realty Corp.

The Edison-based industrial real estate services firm announced the agreement for space at the 93,286-square-foot property located at 1001 Roosevelt Ave. Oct. 31.

BRC Senior Vice President Jordan Metz, Vice President Eric Koons and Sales Associate Benito Abbate represented the landlord, Seagis Property Group; DHL Global Forwarding was represented by JLL.

With 17 tailboards, three drive-in doors, 15-foot ceiling heights, 400 amps to 500 amps of electrical power, west sprinklers and 40 surface parking spots, the building offers access to the New Jersey Turnpike, Route 1-9, Port Newark-Elizabeth and Newark International Airport.

“Inventory levels are still lagging while demand has continued for well located, functional industrial properties,” Metz said in a statement.

Evidencing that demand, Continental Terminals renewed its full-building, 406,437-square-foot lease in Carteret in October. At the close of the third quarter of this year, NAI James E. Hanson reported Middlesex County, where the city is located, had a 2.2% vacancy rate.

“1001 Roosevelt Ave. offers a true last-mile, highway-accessible location with high ceilings and ample loading docks. We are pleased to have represented the landlord, Seagis Property Group, in this transaction with DHL Global Forwarding,” Metz said.
