Campbell Soup Co. sold its Pop Secret popcorn business to , a Boonton-based wholesome snack maker.

The Camden-headquartered soup and snacks giant did not disclose financial terms of the deal in its Aug. 26 press release announcing the sale.

“This marks another step in our journey to strategically focus our snacks portfolio,” he said.

Pop Secret joined Campbell’s lineup after the $6.1 billion purchase of Snyder’s-Lance  in 2018. In fiscal year 2024, it generated net sales of $124 million, according to the company.

Like other consumer packaged goods companies, Campbell has been busy adjusting its portfolio in recent years to prioritize growth. Within New Jersey, B&G Foods in Parsippany and Hain Celestial in Hoboken are doing similar.

In March, Campbell closed its $2.7 billion acquisition of Sovos Brands Inc. – the parent company of Rao’s pasta sauce. The company sold off its Emerald Nuts snack brand last year to private label healthy snacks maker Flagstone Foods.

As part of a larger effort to accelerate growth, the 6-year-old company has made several other moves in recent months. That includes acquiring R.W. Garcia chips and Good Health savory snacks from Utz Brands. That $182.5 million all-cash deal also included three manufacturing facilities in North Carolina, Nevada and Pennsylvania.

In April, Our Home purchased two Utz-owned production plants in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts for $18.5 million. Terms of the sale include a transition services agreement that calls for Our Home to co-manufacture certain Utz products for up to a year.

The following month, Our Home acquired Sonoma Creamery, a cheese and snack producer based in California’s famed wine country. In addition, Our Home gained a production facility and warehouse from Sonoma Creamery, bringing its total manufacturing footprint to eight sites nationwide.
