Party City and want to take the headache out of party planning.

The Woodcliff Lake-based party goods retailer recently debuted a partnership with the popular on-demand delivery platform that will bring celebration essentials directly to customers’ doorsteps. Products from can now be found on the DoorDash marketplace, providing consumers with access to party supplies, décor, balloons and costumes from the retailer’s more than 700 stores nationwide.

The companies noted that Party City is DoorDash’s first party supplies retail partner for on-demand delivery.

Susan Sanderson, senior vice president of brand marketing at Party City, said in a statement, “At Party City, our goal is to be there for all the ways you celebrate. This new partnership with DoorDash will help us to continue to deliver a frictionless customer experience. Whether picking up a few extra necessities or shopping for a full party haul, DoorDash will provide convenient and quick access to our one-stop-shop, allowing hosts to spend more time with their loved ones.”

After filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January, Party City expects to complete its financial restructuring in the second quarter of 2023. As part of its reorganization efforts, the retailer plans to close 22 underperforming stores. 

DoorDash also added several other new retailers to its service over the past month, including Lush Cosmetics and Victoria’s Secret. Additionally, the platform incorporated features aimed at providing a more seamless shopping experiences, such as delivery windows, express options and enhanced search within retail stores.
