O’Hoppe joins Wilmington Trust as tri-state region president

About him

Wilmington Trust has announced the hiring of James O’Hoppe to serve as president of the tri-state region.

Based in the company’s New York City office, O’Hoppe will be responsible for overseeing wealth advisory services in the Greater New York area, leading a team of professionals providing planning, trust, investment management, family governance and education, family office and private banking services to high-net-worth clients.

Prior to joining Wilmington, O’Hoppe served as senior vice president and managing director in the New York office of Bernstein Private Wealth Management, where he helped lead the New York-area private client business. Before joining Bernstein, he spent 12 years in the telecom and technology industries.

O‘Hoppe earned an Master of Business Administration degree from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University. He is an active contributor to Cornell’s Families In Business Institute and he and his wife are active in their community, having established the James and Kimberly O’Hoppe Charitable Fund to address local needs including children’s environmental health, educational and economic advancement and college scholarships.
