Jersey City-based Provident Bank has entered into a marketing agreement with Major League Soccer’s New York Red Bulls.Jersey City-based Provident Bank has entered into a marketing agreement with Major League Soccer’s New York Red Bulls.
Provident will receive the designation of “official banking partner of the New York Red Bulls,” and the fourth and fifth luxury suites at Red Bull Arena in Harrison will be named the Provident Bank Suite Lounge.
Provident Bank CEO Chris Martin told NJBIZ the bank entered into the partnership because soccer is one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S. in terms of popularity, and because of the work the team does with the state’s youth.
Martin said the bank will give its customers opportunities to take their children to games and meet Red Bulls players. One event happening later this year will involve taking 100 children from the surrounding community to participate in a soccer clinic and meet the players.
“What appealed to us is the work that the Red Bulls have done with the state’s youth,” he said. “It’s inspiring to say the least.”
