Elmwood Park-based Spencer Savings Bank announced the expansion of its Retail Banking Business team with the addition of a new business development team leader.

The bank said on Feb. 14, it hired Vice President Richard Vaill as business development officer team leader.

Vaill will be based in Parsippany and will be responsible for providing deposit and lending solutions, geared to helping both small and mid-sized companies in the area grow. With more than 25 years of experience working in both sales and management roles in the industry, he has a strong focus on relationship management, with a background in escrow and 1031 exchanges, and has worked with small and middle-market clients in a variety of industries and professions throughout the state.

A former marine, Vaill served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a commissioned officer (Major) and logistician. He was the Marine for Life New Jersey program director and is a Desert Storm veteran. He is a strong advocate for veterans’ transition programs and founder of the international LinkedIn group, Jobs for Veterans.
