Spirit Halloween to celebrate 40 years with $40K giveaway

Spirit Halloween is marking its 40th anniversary by giving away $40,000 in gift cards to help fans celebrate the spooky season.

Between Sept. 22 and Sept. 25, the Egg Harbor-based specialty retailer is set to award $1,000 gift cards to 40 of its Instagram followers “to make their Halloween dreams, or nightmares, come true,” according to a press release announcing the promotion.

Scheduled to open more than 1,500 pop-up locations across the U.S. and Canada this season – a record for – the brand is considered the go-to destination for costumes, decorations, props and accessories. It also operates an online store, year-round.

For its milestone birthday year, the retailer is also bringing back a fresh twist on its beloved “Spirit Hallows” in-store theme, boasting cemetery-inspired design details that are complete with animatronics.

According to Spirit Halloween, about 950 locations are open already.

Within New Jersey, the retailer has launched shops in Bridgewater, Cherry Hill, Deptford, East Brunswick, East Hanover, Egg Harbor, Freehold, Glassboro, Hackettstown, Holmdel, Manahawkin, Manalapan, Marlton, Mays Landing, Morris Plains, North Brunswick, Old Bridge, Paramus, Rio Grande, Riverdale, Rockaway, Succasunna, Turnersville, Voorhees, Watchung, Wayne, Williamstown and Woodbury.

It will soon begin welcoming shoppers in Aberdeen, Burlington, Clifton, Eatontown, Franklin (Sussex County), Howell, Lawrenceville, Middletown, Springfield, Toms River, Totowa, Vineland and Woodbridge.
