Cooper Health’s Red Hot Gala raises nearly $4M (photos)

The annual event also honored NFL legend Ron Jaworski and his wife, Liz, longtime supporters of the Camden-based health network and surrounding community. 

On Aug. 30, surgical oncologists at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper used histotripsy, a noninvasive technology that uses sound waves to destroy cancerous liver tumors, to treat a patient. This makes MD Anderson at Cooper one of only 20 cancer centers worldwide, and the first in New Jersey and the Philadelphia region, to offer this treatment.
