Wawa is getting ready to unveil its newest convenience store in Sussex County.
Located at 75 Route 206 in Byram, the chain is set to begin welcoming customers at 8 a.m. Nov. 7.
To celebrate, Wawa will offer free any-size coffee all day, as well as a limited-edition “In My Wawa Era 60th Anniversary” T-shirt giveaway to the first 100 guests.
Festivities will include a 7:45 a.m. countdown to the doors opening. The morning will also include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Wawa’s mascot, Wally Goose; a hoagie-building competition among local first responders; and an appearance by Luis Robles, a local resident and New York Red Bulls alum.
According to Wawa, the new location has a built-to-order fresh food kitchen featuring the brand’s signature sandwiches and latest food innovations, as well as coffee, baked goods and specialty beverages. Additionally, it will provide packaged goods, fuel services and catering.
After marking its 1,000th store opening last year in Oaklyn, the Pennsylvania retail chain planned to launch more than 70 new locations in 2024, including its first stores in Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina. By 2030, Wawa aims to have 1,800 outlets nationwide.
That’s according to the inaugural American Customer Satisfaction Index’s first c-store study, which put the Philadelphia-based chain on top, beating Murphy USA, QuikTrip, Speedway and others. Read more >>
