American Dream is adding even more high-end dining options and luxury brands to its mix of tenants.
In a June 8 press release, the Meadowlands megamall announced the opening of Mozzarella Bar, an upscale, quick-service eatery featuring a wide selection of dishes inspired by the Italian cheese.
Located in Court A, Level 3, Mozzarella Bar’s menu includes pizza, pasta and charcuterie, as well as dessert, cocktails, wine and champagne. It is open 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday through Thursday; reservations are required.
The fast casual eatery marks the second signature concept at the mall by Alex Kalas and Tom Billante, who previously launched Carpaccio, a high-end Italian restaurant in American Dream‘s luxury wing.
Kalas and Billante – who were tapped by the mall to develop three fine dining establishments at the property – said they are thrilled to launch their latest eatery for American Dream.
“Mozzarella Bar promises to provide guests with an incredible lunch and dinner experience, with fresh ingredients and delicious menu options, there’s something for everyone,” Kalas said.
“American Dream continues to expand and raise the bar when it comes to providing a broad range of best-in-class dining options,” said Bryan Gaus, senior vice president and general manager of American Dream. “This is the perfect place for guests seeking a trendy place to grab a bite or the discerning foodie on a quest to satisfy a craving. We’re thrilled to welcome Mozzarella Bar to the American Dream family.”
Hugo Boss, the German-based designer brand best known for its men’s suits and fragrances, also recently opened its Boss store at the mall.
Located on Level 1 near Court D, the 3,000-square-foot shop is one of the retailer’s largest in the Northeast and offers a range of apparel for men, women and children, as well as eyewear, watches, perfumes and colognes.
Among the amenities offered by the new store is a kiosk where customers can search for products and place an order directly.
Don Ghermezian, president and CEO of American Dream, said he is excited to welcome Boss, adding that the iconic brand helps the mall deliver on its “promise to provide guests with an unparalleled shopping experience.”

The latest shopping and dining additions come as retail leasing veteran Sandi Danick returns to lead American Dream’s efforts to expand leasing opportunities in its retail, dining and entertainment portfolio.
As senior vice president, head of leasing, Danick will oversee day-to-day leasing operations, with the goal of achieving maximum occupancy and merchandising at the property, along with growing and managing relationships with brands and partners.
Most recently, Danick served as senior vice president for Urban Edge Properties’ flagship asset, Bergen Town Center in Paramus, where she helped lead an upgrade of the property and the firm’s broader portfolio.
Prior to Urban Edge, Danick held the role of senior vice president of leasing for two of Triple Five’s premier properties: American Dream and Mall of America in Minnesota.
“Sandi’s strategic vision and decision-making positioned American Dream for success during one of the most challenging times for businesses this country has ever seen,” said Ghermezian. “Now that we are on the other side of that and continue to gain momentum, we are thrilled to welcome Sandi back to lead us through this next era of growth, as we continue to expand and evolve to create the world’s premier destination for dining, retail and entertainment.”
Danick also held executive leadership positions with retail developers Westfield Corp. and Macerich Co., where she managed and executed leasing and merchandising strategies for top retail centers and shopping destinations including Tysons Corner Center, Garden State Plaza, Queens Center, Shops at North Bridge and Cross County Shopping Center, among others. Prior to her career in retail leasing, Danick spent nearly 15 years in the real estate industry.
