Burlington food distributor buys Pennsylvania dairy

Balford Farms, a Burlington-based dairy and food distributor, is buying Pennsylvania-based Rosenberger’s Dairy, according to a published report.The Intelligencer newspaper, based in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, reported Thursday that Balford plans to continue operating Rosenberger’s warehouse and distribution depots in Hatfield, Bristol Township and York, Pennsylvania, but close its bottling and production facilities in Hatfield. Manufacturing will be shifted to other area plants, the report said.

Terms of the sale, which is expected to close at the end of October, were not disclosed, according to the report. Rosenberger workers will be offered job opportunities with Balford, it said.
