Campbell Soup Co. announced Tuesday that its director of community affairs has been elected president of the company’s Campbell Soup Foundation.Kim Fremont Fortunato, who has been with Campbell since 2010, becomes the first female president of the foundation, which donates more than $1.5 million annually to organizations focused on community well-being, youth empowerment and economically sustainable programming to support the development of healthy communities, Campbell said in a news release.
In her current role, Fortunato, who started at the Camden-based food company as director of Campbell’s Healthy Communities, has been responsible for Campbell’s enterprise-wide community affairs strategy.
She has more than 20 years of experience in the philanthropic and nonprofit industry, Campbell said, including serving as president of Operation Warm Inc. and co-founding Social Venture Partners Delaware.
Among other awards, Fortunato was a member of the NJBIZ Best 50 Women in Business’ Class of 2012.
