Cooper University Health Care appointed Autum Shingler-Nace to the new position of chief nursing officer for Cooper University Hospital.
Shingler-Nace joined the Camden-based health care provider in October 2023 as vice president of perioperative and procedural operations. She will continue to oversee those functions. With her promotion, Shingler-Nace will now also lead the advancement of professional nursing practice as well as excellence in patient care, Cooper announced July 23.
Shingler-Nace reports to Kathy Devine, senior vice president and chief nursing executive.
Prior to her promotion, Cooper credited Shingler-Nace with enhancing operational growth, efficiency and strategic planning, as well as developing the Cooper Surgery Center at Moorestown.
She brings nearly 20 years of health care experience to the position. Shingler-Nace has also held leadership roles at Thomas Jefferson University Health, Heritage Valley Health System and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, according to her LinkedIn profile.
In announcing her promotion on social media, Shingler-Nace said, “I’m looking forward to this adventure and very excited to lead and advocate for the team at [C]ooper!”
Shingler-Nace earned a doctorate in health care executive leadership from the University of Pittsburgh. She got an MBA from Waynesburg University and a bachelor’s in registered nursing from Penn State.
Cooper Health adds the new role as the system undergoes massive advancements. That includes breaking ground on a $3 billion expansion of its Camden campus.
The provider also recently received its highest credit rating of its 138-year history from S&P Global Ratings.
Cooper University Health Care also recently announced that its video series documenting frontline health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, “Stories in Care,” has been officially accepted into the Library of Congress. Find out more here.
