Diversified is expanding its footprint into the Great White North with its acquisition of Advanced Presentation Products.

On Wednesday, the Kenilworth-based, global technology solutions provider Diversified said it acquired APP, which specializes in audio visual communications solutions, service and support for business, government and education clients.

Diversified said the move will bolster the company’s growth strategy to expand existing client business and to find new opportunities for its available solutions.

“Welcoming the Advanced team into the Diversified family is a natural extension of our existing North American operations,” Diversified President Kevin Collins said in a prepared statement. “The opportunity for Diversified to establish a basecamp in the Canadian market with the established support of such a strong organization as Advanced is very exciting.”

According to Diversified, APP is a leader in Canada in the design and installation of audio video, digital signage and visual collaboration solutions and K-12 education technology including robotics, 3D Printing and other STEAM focused solutions.

“This represents the start of the next great chapter in the 24-year history of Advanced in Canada,” Advanced President and Chief Executive Officer David Weatherhead said in a prepared statement. “I am incredibly proud of all that we have achieved to date and I leave knowing Diversified will take the company to great heights while I focus on building my AV rental business.”

According to Diversified, Weatherhead will exit the company to pursue other ventures.

“We are thrilled to join forces with the Diversified team,” said Mark McPherson, executive vice president at Advanced. “The diverse solution set that this company offers to not just its clients in North America, but across the globe, is truly outstanding and something we are very proud to be a part of.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
