The New Jersey Department of Health issued a cannabis processing permit to TerrAscend NJ LLC March 18.
The company can now begin to extract, process, and manufacture cannabis products including vaporizables, concentrates, topicals, tinctures and edibles under its Ilera Healthcare, Kind Tree, and Prism brands.
TerrAscend’s 16-acre site in Boonton includes a 140,000-square-foot production facility. So far, several harvests of the 40,000 square-foot greenhouse have been completed; and the inaugural harvest at the company’s newly completed 80,000-square-foot indoor grow is underway.
The scaled cultivation, processing, and manufacturing capacity of the Boonton facility will allow for the supply of a wide range of branded form factors to TerrAscend’s ATCs, as well as other dispensaries across the state, according to an announcement.
TerrAscend’s dispensary The Apothecarium is open in Phillipsburg, and a second location in Maplewood is expected to open in the second quarter. A third ATC will follow in Q3.
The state medical cannabis program currently serves more than 104,000 patients.
