Suboxone is comprised of buprenorphine and naloxone. The generic version will be sold in 2-mg, 4-mg, 8-mg and 12-mg dosages.

“This approval is an important milestone for our company and a testament to our commitment to bring affordable generic medicines to market for patients,” said Alok Sonig, CEO of developed markets at DRL.

Suboxone’s U.L.-based manufacturer, Indivior, sold $1.86 billion of the drug in a 12-month span through April.
