Investors Bank has announced the appointment of Michelle Van Steenbergen to the position of executive vice president and branch manager. In her new position, Van Steenbergen will manage one of Investors’ newest branches, which is located at 636 Inman Ave. in Colonia. Her responsibilities include managing the day-to-day operations, building relations with customers, growing deposits and making a positive difference in the community by creating alliances with local nonprofits.
Before joining Investors Bank, Van Steenbergen managed two Santander branches on Staten Island from September 2012 to December 2014. As a highly motivated and top-performing manager, Van Steenbergen was selected to participate in one of the bank’s corporate relationship exchange programs.
Genova Burns, a full-service legal firm with a specialization in real estate, land use and redevelopment law, announced that Angela Pan has joined the firm’s Jersey City office as counsel. Pan will be practicing in the areas of commercial real estate and redevelopment, as well as business law and commercial transactions.
Pan is among the few native Chinese professionals in the legal and financial fields who has education and practice experience in the United States, China and Taiwan. She is an admitted attorney in New York state, China and Taiwan, and completed all three levels of Chartered Financial Analyst exams.
Genova Burns also announced that Michael Halfacre joined the firm as counsel, effective July 1. Halfacre is a member of the firm’s commercial real estate and redevelopment and business law and commercial transactions practice groups. He also will be available for consultation to the firm’s craft beer, spirits and alcohol law practice group.
Halfacre is the former director of the New Jersey Division of Alcohol Beverage Control in the Attorney General’s Office. In his private practice, Halfacre specialized in transactions, including sales and refinance of commercial real estate and transfers of Alcohol Beverage Control licenses.
David Kaufman joined Herrick, Feinstein as counsel in its real estate department, based out of the law firm’s Newark office. Kaufman, who advises owners, developers and financial institutions in real estate transactions and financings, comes to the firm from Fried Frank. Prior to that, he was general counsel of Rechler Equity/R Squared Real Estate Partners, a major real estate investment firm operating throughout the New York metropolitan area.
NAI Mertz, a leading full-service commercial real estate firm serving southern New Jersey and greater Philadelphia, announced David Grove has joined the firm as chief operating officer.
As COO, Grove will oversee the daily operations for NAI Mertz’s offices serving southern New Jersey, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and greater Philadelphia, as well as the NAI Mertz of PA office serving northeastern Pennsylvania. He will be responsible for developing and executing corporate strategy, focused on strengthening existing client relationships, generating new business opportunities and working with the brokerage team and support staff to bolster existing marketing initiatives and internal processes.
With 28 years of commercial real estate leadership experience, Grove has a significant background in large and complex transactions and has closed more than $1 billion in lease, structured finance and purchase/sale deals in an array of products including office, industrial, retail, ground, institutional and specialty/niche real estate.

Coach USA, one of the largest transportation companies in North America, announced that Robert Kaylor has been promoted to vice president of maintenance for North America. His new responsibilities will include: support and auditing staff, vendor support and all maintenance campaigns to verify the buses are in the best working condition for North America, which includes more than 2,000 vehicles.
Kaylor was one of the owners of Butler Motor Transit in Butler, Pennsylvania, until Coach USA bought the company in 1998. Kaylor agreed to stay on in North Central Regional Maintenance and was promoted to Eastern Regional Fleet Maintenance manager before his recent promotion.
