Overlook Medical Center appointed Dr. Brian David Radbill as chief medical officer, the Atlantic Health System facility recently announced. An Atlantic Health representative told NJBIZ that Radbill succeeds Dr. John Audett, who retired.

A board-certified nephrologist and dynamic clinical executive, Radbill is responsible for the clinical leadership of the center’s medical staff, including its 1,728 physicians.

Radbill joins Overlook Medical Center from the Mount Sinai Health System. There, he most recently served as CMO and senior vice president, Medical Affairs, at Mount Sinai Morningside in Manhattan. According to his LinkedIn profile, Radbill worked for multiple facilities within the Mount Sinai system since July 1998.

“We are excited to have a leader of Dr. Radbill’s caliber join us to lead our amazing physicians who drive the exceptional care and innovation that are the hallmarks of Overlook Medical Center,” Overlook Medical Center President Stephanie Schwartz said in a statement. “We are looking forward to Dr. Radbill working with our clinical leaders to forge advances in care and quality for our patients.”

Radbill’s accomplishments while at Mount Sinai include launching a program to train leaders to effectively respond after a safety event. He also served as the incident commander for Mount Sinai Morningside’s Incident Management Team through the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Atlantic Health, Radbill will play key role in supporting the organization’s strategic goals, such as “continued growth and the delivery of an exceptional patient experience.”

Overlook overhaul

The system also said he joins Overlook amid a multiphase transformation plan “that will see the majority of the hospital enhanced.”

The Overlook Ahead plan includes the new Hersh Children’s Center, a new entrance to the emergency department and the creation of the EmPATH behavioral health unit.

As for changes at Overlook’s parent network, Atlantic Health System and Saint Peter’s Healthcare System announced in January the first step in fully integrating the two organizations.

“Overlook is a truly remarkable place that stands out within the health care landscape,” Radbill said. “I’m extremely proud to join it at such a transformational period, and excited to guide our doctors’ contribution to Overlook’s next chapter.”

Radbill completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in nephrology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He earned his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Overlook Medical Center’s recent industry recognitions include landing in the top 50 on Healthgrades’ 2024 America’s Best Hospitals list. The facility was also named a high-performing hospital for maternity care by U.S. News & World Report.
