Getinge US, a medical equipment manufacturer, said Tuesday it signed a lease at 1 Geoffrey Way in Wayne for its entire U.S. sales and service unit, a new service training center, and to be the home for more than 200 Getinge employees.

The property is the former Toys R Us World Headquarters, and within close proximity to the existing Getinge manufacturing-facility in Wayne. The initiative is part of a consolidation of Getinge’s three New Jersey facilities in Wayne, Mahwah and Fairfield into two primary locations in Wayne and Mahwah.

“We have a long history in New Jersey and this investment solidifies Getinge’s strong commitment to New Jersey and supports leadership training and knowledge sharing with our customers,” said Getinge North America President Eric Honroth. “This new facility will host our strong talent pool in New Jersey to continue leadership partnership initiatives within the health care industry.”

Honroth stated that the investment in the Wayne property will create a modern, state-of-the-art work environment for its existing and future co-workers.
