Situated on a former site of a medical office building, The Frederick in Highland Park is 100% leased.

Garden Communities recently announced the milestone for the boutique rental community located at 2 Walter Ave.

The 40-unit property offers a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments ranging from 800 square feet to more than 1,200 square feet.

The Frederick’s leasing office opened in January, just a few weeks before the first move-ins.

A leasing office opened at The Frederick in January and the first residents arrived at the end of February.

According to Garden Communities’ Brett Tanzman, “The Frederick offers the best of both worlds: luxurious apartment homes and lifestyle amenities in one of New Jersey’s most vibrant municipalities – just across the Raritan River from New Brunswick.”

In Bergen County

Garden Communities launched leasing at the 377-unit The Jefferson in Hackensack in April. Learn more about the mix of one- and two-bedroom rental units and its amenities here.

The homes

Apartments feature oversized windows and open layouts, well-appointed kitchens, wider plank flooring, pedestal lighting with Edison bulbs, in-unit washers and dryers; select residences include patios or balconies with views of New Brunswick or the Raritan River.

The perks

Tanzman called attention to The Frederick’s amenities: a fitness center; coworking space; community lounge with prep kitchen, flat-screen TVs, a fireplace and wet bar; a package room; dog washing station; resident storage, indoor and outdoor bicycle storage; and EV chargers.

Residents are near the downtowns of both Highland Park and New Brunswick, including Rutgers University, and Robert Wood Johnson University and Saint Peters University hospitals. Major roadways in the area include Route 18, Interstate 287, and the New Jersey Turnpike among others.
