Swedish furniture brand Ikea is launching a first-of-its-kind pop-up shopping experience in South Jersey.
Located on the first floor of Cherry Hill Mall, the new kiosk is focused on kitchen design, allowing customers to work with Ikea’s experts to plan the kitchen of their dreams and purchase products directly on site.
The pop-up officially opens May 26 and runs through Sept. 30. Operated by an Ikea franchise in Philadelphia, Pa., the space will be open 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Since Ikea’s only two stores in New Jersey are in the northern part of the state – in Paramus and Elizabeth – the retailer decided to debut a pop-up as a way to better serve South Jersey.
Michael Hill, Ikea South Philadelphia’s customer experience manager, said the concept also provides “a unique opportunity to inspire our customers in an innovative way while also helping to increase their awareness of Ikea home furnishing solutions and services available at Ikea South Philadelphia or online at Ikea.com.”
The opening is part of a larger initiative to create more touch points for new and existing customers and the first of more kitchen planning pop-ups in other markets across the U.S. in the near future, according to Ikea.
Sugar Factory American Brasserie – named as one of the most Instagrammed restaurants in the U.S. – opened a Cherry Hill restaurant this fall. Click here to read more.
