The 2024 Navy Federal Credit Union coming to now has even more Jersey flavor, as the NHL announced Wednesday that Garden State natives the will perform a pregame concert before the and Philadelphia Flyers face off Feb. 17.

The marquee event is being held on back-to-back nights, Feb. 17-18, outdoors in East Rutherford. The New York Rangers and New York Islanders square off Feb. 18.

Last month, NJBIZ reported some of the details of the Stadium Series, which were revealed during a promotional press event. The performance from the Jonas Brothers (who are Devils fans) was not yet announced at that time, but a pre-game concert of some kind was teased.

“We could not be more excited about having this great celebration of hockey in the New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia area,” said NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman during the Nov. 1 press conference. “There are great rivalries among these four teams. And to be in this fabulous stadium to celebrate the game over two days – we’re going to have a fan fest to be announced later. There is going to be a concert as part of the Saturday night game and celebration. And when you think about how much hockey means to this area and the number of people that are involved with the game at all levels – no better place to fill this magnificent, 80,000-seat stadium twice in less than 24 hours. It is going to be a great weekend.”

The NHL revealed the concert news Dec. 13, including that tickets to the Feb. 17 event will now include admission to both the pregame performance, which starts at 6:30 p.m., as well as the hockey match, which starts at 8 p.m.

According to the NHL, the Jonas Brothers – Nick, Joe and Kevin, who grew up in North Jersey – will hit the stage for a full set of their greatest hits and songs from their latest release, “The Album,” and then return for a second set during the second intermission of the Devils-Flyers showdown.

“What a dream to open for the Devils in our home state,” said Jonas Brothers in a press release. “We’re super excited to be at MetLife and open up the great NHL Stadium Series weekend in front of hometown friends, family, and thousands of hockey fans.”

The news adds more buzz to the prestigious event, which the Garden State is hosting for the first time.

“The Stadium Series in Jersey for two days – back-to-back, sellouts – is a huge deal,” said Gov. Phil Murphy during that November press conference at MetLife Stadium. “I think this is coming together at the peak of the NHL, the teams, and MetLife.”

The NHL says that additional entertainment news will be announced in the coming weeks.
