Kearny Bank in Fairfield tapped a new vice president and closing manager for loans with the federal Small Business Administration.
In this new role, Paterson local Melissa Parrilla will oversee the SBA loan-closing and post-closing department, according to a Sept. 1 announcement from Kearny Bank. She first came on board at the bank in 2018, before that spending more than 20 years at Columbia Bank, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She’s so far created a “department procedure manual” and digitized different aspects of the department, according to Kearny Bank First Vice President and SBA Operations Manager Robert Kim. And amid the Paycheck Protection Program’s forgivable loans, her role was all the more important, Kim added.
“Melissa has demonstrated a consistent ability to identify solutions within our SBA loans group and we’re pleased to expand her role.”
