Kushner, Extell to finish Pier Village in Long Branch

The Kushner Cos. and Extell Development Co. will complete the mixed-used Pier Village community after acquiring the Long Branch site this summer, the firms announced Tuesday.

The waterfront destination, originally developed by Ironstate Development, currently includes more than 90,000 square feet of retail space and 492 rental residential units. Its new owners said they plan to revitalize the site and begin construction of the final phase, which includes condominiums, family-oriented retail and a boutique hotel.

Kushner and Extell acquired the 9-year-old, upscale development for a reported $200 million, though exact terms weren’t disclosed publicly at the time.

The existing retail at the site is centered around Festival Plaza, an ocean-facing green space that regularly hosts community events such as outdoor fairs and concert, the developers said in a news release.
