Lisa Gorab, the first female president and managing partner of Wilentz, Goldman and Spitzer, has died.

She passed away on June 4. She was 61.

Gorab grew up in Clifton and graduated from Lehigh University in 1983. She earned her J.D. in 1989 from the Seton Hall University School of Law.

Gorab started working at in 1992 and rose to partnership in 1998. She was elected the first female president and managing partner of the Woodbridge-based firm in 2021; and in the years leading up to that, took on several leadership positions. She chaired the public finance group, co-chaired the diversity committee, and served as firm treasurer.

She was one of NJBIZ’s Leaders in Law and included on the NJBIZ Law Power 50 list, both in 2021.
