Mediterranean eatery is launching its newest outpost in New Jersey.

Located at 700 Plaza Drive in Secaucus, the brand is scheduled to begin welcoming patrons June 28.

Considered to be the Mediterranean version of Chipotle, the 18-year-old Washington, D.C.-based brand serves salads, grain bowls and pita wraps that can be customizable with a variety of proteins, toppings, veggies, dressings and dips.

The fast-growing chain’s footprint of more than 340 locations nationwide includes eight restaurants in New Jersey: Bridgewater, Edgewater, Jersey City, Lawrenceville, Moorestown, Paramus, Ramsey and Wayne.

In Secaucus, Cava joins the lineup at Harmon Meadow, a sprawling 200-acre mixed-use campus in the Meadowlands. The property’s dining options include Shake Shack, Chili’s, Chipotle, Dunkin’, Houlihan’s, Panera Bread, Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse and Starbucks.

Ahead of its grand opening, Cava will host a June 27 community day offering free lunch and dinner to guests who sign up in advance here.

As part of the offer, attendees will receive one free bowl or pita from 10:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. or between 5-8 p.m.

Cava will also accept and match donations up to $1,000 in support of Food Rescue US, a nonprofit dedicated to eliminating hunger and food waste.

Through the organization’s proprietary web-based app, volunteers work to transfer fresh food surpluses from local businesses to social service agencies serving the food insecure.

According to Cava, the soon-to-launch location in Secaucus will donate hundreds of fresh bowls and pitas that team members make during their pre-opening training week to local community members via Food Rescue US.

Following the grand opening, Cava will be open daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. The location will also offer catering, according to a company spokesperson.
