Fall is yet to, well, fall upon us, but The Experiential Supply Co., which was founded by a native New Jerseyan, already has plans to bring some frights to the Garden State.

The Los Angeles-based production company, with help from the Fever entertainment platform, is bringing its fully immersive Haunt O’ Ween NJ event to Holmdel this fall. The Monmouth County production will be the start of its national expansion, the company said in an Aug. 16 announcement.

Set to take place Sept. 30-Oct. 31 at Bell Works, 101 Crawfords Road, the “spooktacular” event includes “nine distinctive and wholly immersive worlds.”

Guests will be able to navigate through the massive grounds, which feature photo ops, live character performers, face painting, rides, games, live music, stunt performances, trick-or-treating, dancing, and food and beverages. And, participants are welcome to stay as long as they’d like (if they’re not too scared, that is).

According to the organizers, they spent more than $1 million on candy for trick-or-treating for this year’s Los Angeles and Holmdel .

“We’ve worked very hard this year to put on the country’s largest and most magical Halloween experience for all ages. Over 200,000 square feet of immersive thematics flooded with interactivity, all built on the foundation of Halloween – trick-or-treating, pumpkins, costumes, and spooky fun,” Experiential Supply founder and CEO Jasen Smith – who hails from Wall Township – said in a statement.

Experiential Supply started in Hollywood’s film industry, creating large-scale, immersive experiences for movies such as “IT: Chapter 2,” “Ready Player One,” and “The LEGO Movie.” The company changed course during the COVID-19 pandemic and launched Haunt O’ Ween in October 2020 as a trick-or-treating drive-thru for children in the Los Angeles area.

In 2021, Haunt O’ Ween moved to an in-person format, and more than 100,000 people have since attended.

Organizers say the Holmdel event is the first stop on its national expansion.

“I grew up at the shore … and it felt right to expand back in my hometown area,” Smith told NJBIZ. “But additionally, something we’re focusing on with our expansion plans are going to markets outside of the major cities.”

Smith said large-scale events usually head to cities such as New York, Miami and Chicago, but “we think there’s something powerful about bringing our creations to towns/cities that may not expect them or seen before.”

“This is about families having a safe and incredibly fun place to enjoy the holiday and there’s just nothing like it,” Smith said.

Tickets start at $40 and can be purchased at www.hauntoween.com.
