NJ Transit and the United States Army Reserve announced a new partnership Sept. 17, aimed at creating employment opportunities for soldiers.
A ceremony was held Tuesday at NJ Transit‘s headquarters in Newark between the two organizations to mark the signing of the employee recruitment and outreach agreement.
Through the collaboration, reserve soldiers will receive employment opportunities via relationship building and career services. The U.S. Army Reserve Private Public Partnership Office noted that more than 87% of Army Reserve soldiers combine military service with civilian careers.
“We’re grateful for this opportunity to partner with NJ Transit who will provide our soldiers and family members with good employment opportunities in this region,” said Alecia Grady, director, Private Public Partnership Office, USAR.
“NJ Transit is proud to partner with the U.S. Army Reserve to create meaningful career opportunities for reservists,” said NJ Transit President and CEO Kevin Corbett. “These men and women bring exceptional skills, leadership, and a commitment to service that aligns perfectly with our company’s values.”
