As chief executive officer and member of the board of directors at Johnson & Johnson’s consumer health spinoff, Kenvue, Mongon leads a team of 22,000 employees worldwide in a mission to make a difference in peoples’ lives through advanced innovation.

Kenvue – which completed its separation from New Brunswick-headquartered J&J’s core pharmaceutical business in August 2023 – has an impressive brand portfolio that includes Aveeno, Band-Aid, Listerine, Tylenol and Neutrogena.

Mongon was named to the post in May 2023 after 23 years with J&J, where he most recently served as executive vice president and worldwide chairman, Consumer Health.

Shortly after Kenvue’s solid debut on the New York Stock Exchange last spring, Mongon told CNBC he will look to brand and product innovation to drive growth, saying, “We are going to continue to do what we do best, which is innovating to find new ways to serve consumers and help them take better care of their health.”

He also believes the company’s portfolio presents “ample opportunities” to grow and that its plans for innovation involve new science and technologies to develop products that meet specific needs of consumers in a way that hasn’t been done before. In addition, Kenvue will utilize a digital-first approach to deliver more personalized experiences with its brands, which includes new e-commerce and direct-to-consumer services.

While Kenvue is mainly focused on organic growth, Mongon told the news outlet it hasn’t ruled out M&A in the future and would consider it if a brand could complement the company’s portfolio in a positive way.

Though currently based in Skillman, Kenvue will begin relocating to Summit, where it has signed a long-term lease for 290,000 square feet of space to serve as a global headquarters. The 46-acre campus will house corporate personnel as well as laboratory space to support research and development.
