– Traditional category: Must be 39 years old or younger by Oct. 27, 2026.
– Rising Star category: Individuals 29 or younger with 7 years or less of experience who show extreme potential to be an industry leader in the next few years.

* This program features two categories. If you feel your nominee is doing great things in their career but may not be at the level to compete in the traditional category, please select the “Rising Star” category below. If you feel your nominee should be considered in the traditional category, please select “Traditional” category below. Please note we will be honoring 40 in the “Traditional” category in addition to +/- 20 in the “Rising Star” category.

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

– Nominee must be currently employed or self-employed living and working in New Jersey.
– Nominee’s company must have a physical office in NJ (may be for profit or not for profit).
– May be self-nominated or nominated by another person.
– Cannot be a previous Forty Under 40 award winner within the past two years.
– Cannot be a member of the judging panel, or a member of any judge’s immediate family.
– Nominee must be an owner, partner, president, CEO, CFO, COO, vice president, board chair, or other senior-level executive or manager.
– NJBIZ reserves the right to limit the number of honorees per company.
– If a nominee is chosen as an honoree, their participation is required at the event.

For a nomination to be considered complete, all materials described below must be submitted together. Nominations must be submitted ONLINE to be considered.
