Fashion retailer Nordstrom will permanently close 16 of its stores nationwide due to COVID-19 business impacts, including the Freehold Raceway Mall location.
“Our goal is to best position ourselves to serve customers in each market where we operate. Because of the impacts COVID-19 has had on our business, we need to take a critical look at the physical footprint of our stores to determine which we will continue to operate,” a spokesperson told NJBIZ.
Nordstrom Freehold Raceway and the other 15 stores were selected to close “based on a variety of factors, including the unique needs of the market, the current state of our business and real estate agreements,” according to the spokesperson.
The store, which opened in 1992, will by closed by August.
Nordstrom will “providing support and resources through this transition” to its employees, the spokesperson said.
