The New York Giants announced the 100th Season Community Caravan Aug. 1 during a launch event at Hackensack University Medical Center.
The initiative marks the historic football franchise’s centennial season. The team officially formed Aug. 1, 1925, adding even more significance to Thursday’s ceremony.
During that event, Giants CEO and President John Mara, along with team legends Phil Simms and Justin Tuck, and Hackensack Meridian Health CEO Robert Garrett unveiled a special 100th season mural. The piece features the 100th season logo as well as the Giants’ eight-time World Champions branding. HMH is presenting sponsor of the Caravan.
Leading up to the home opener Sept. 8, the Caravan will make multiple visits to tri-state locations, such as schools, community centers, season ticket member homes and more.
That journey began Thursday at HMH, with Tuck, Simms and the Super Bowl Trophy on hand.
“We are especially honored to support the Giants 10oth Season Community Caravan, which will bring the joy of football and the spirit of giving back to communities throughout the tri-state area,” said Garrett. “We are honored to be a part of this historic celebration and look forward to working with the Giants to impact the lives of countless individuals and families positively.”
On the road, the Caravan will make stops at partner locations. Destinations include Bob’s Discount Furniture, Wendy’s, Local Ford Dealers, The City College of New York, QuickChek, Dunkin’ and HMH Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
Allison Stangeby, vice president of community relations for the Giants, said the organization is thrilled to show its support and appreciation to HMH employees, who are always on call for the fans and community members.
“The New York Giants are proud that this community has been our home for the last 100 years and we are thankful to Hackensack Meridian Health for being such a wonderful partner of so many initiatives,” said Stangeby. “We look forward to a fantastic 100th Season Caravan.”
