The intoxicating smell of baking bread and fresh-brewed coffee will waft into 40 new areas by the end of the year.
Moonanchie-headquartered Paris Baguette announced Aug. 16 that it’s on track to open the locations by the end of 2022, bringing its total store count to nearly 150 across the U.S.
The new sites include two set for the Garden State — one each in Red Bank and in Livingston.

In 2023, the bakery café chain expects to open 96 more sites due to “increased interest from franchise partners,” according to the announcement.
“We set an aggressive goal to open 1,000 locations in the U.S. by 2030 and we’re on track to exceed this plan with strategic direction on growth, quality products, customer experience, and innovation,” CEO Darren Tipton said in a statement.
The 40 projected openings for 2022 will feature Paris Baguette’s new store format and brand concept, with windows into the bakers’ spaces and murals by local artists.
In addition to recent openings in Hilton Head, S.C., and Austin, Texas, new stores are scheduled to open in Ithaca, N.Y.; Woodland Hills, Calif.; Winter Park, Fla.; and Scottsdale, Ariz.
In 2022, the rebranded Paris Baguette recorded 42% year-over-year sales growth, 31% comp sales increase and a 28% traffic count increase.
“The next two years will mark a turning point in the development of the Paris Baguette brand as we see immense growth and reestablish the bakery café as the heart of each community we serve,” said Chief Marketing Officer Pete Bell. “With the reimagined café experience and all-encompassing brand strategy, our bakery cafés will become more than just a stop for coffee and croissants but a pillar of the community through charitable programs, moments of joy, and guests’ favorite meals.”
