A British party supplies brand founded by the mother of Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, will make its U.S. retail debut at ShopRite stores in New Jersey.

In an Oct. 18 press release, Saker ShopRites Inc. announced the arrival of Party Pieces, Carole Middleton’s bestselling partyware collection, at select supermarkets it owns and operates in Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset, Middlesex, Mercer and Somerset counties.

According to Saker, this marks the first time Middleton’s party items will be available on U.S. shelves and is the start of a larger expansion plan. After the initial rollout, Saker will make the collection available at all 39 stores it owns.

The brand’s Party Pieces collection features a variety of themed products for children and adults, including plates, napkins, cups, hats, balloons, treat stands, table runners and decorations.

The partnership with Saker comes a year after Party Pieces’ successful e-commerce launch in the United Kingdom, which saw the collection quickly become a best-seller for the brand.

Middleton founded Party Pieces in 1987 when she was planning Kate’s fifth birthday party and realized there was a gap in the market for time-pressed parents who wanted to give their children fun, imaginative parties.

In a statement, Middleton said, “It’s very exciting to see our Party Pieces Collection expanding into the U.S. with Saker ShopRites, a leading retailer in New Jersey and family-owned business with a long history of commitment to the customers and communities its stores serve.”

“This is the culmination of great teamwork, and we’re happy to partner with Saker ShopRites for our initial launch,” added Middleton, who recently visited Saker ShopRite stores in Aberdeen, Hazlet, Middletown and Shrewsbury as part of the launch.
