Superfruit bowl shop franchise Playa Bowls named Nicolle DuBose as chief marketing officer, the Belmar-based company announced Oct. 23.
DuBose succeeds co-founder Abby Taylor, who will continue as chief branding officer, according to Playa Bowls. Earlier this year, the company named Dan Harmon to take over the CEO role from fellow co-founder Rob Giuliani, who remains chief innovation officer.
With more than 20 years of marketing experience in the food and beverage industry, DuBose will be responsible for overseeing Playa Bowls’ marketing efforts, including brand strategy, digital marketing, social media and customer engagement initiatives.
DuBose most recently was vice president and head of marketing for Schlotzsky’s at Focus Brands, where she previously held marketing roles for additional Focus banners including Carvel, Cinnabon and Moe’s Southwest Grill. Prior to Focus, which she joined in 2009, DuBose worked for companies including Atlanta Bread Co., Arby’s and Fletcher Martin, according to her LinkedIn profile.
“DuBose has an impressive record in marketing in the franchise and restaurant industry and is a critical addition to our executive leadership team as we look to drive the brand to new heights,” Harmon said in a statement.
In August, Playa Bowls’ new restaurant in Hackensack brought its total footprint to 200 shops across 22 states.
Founded in 2014, Playa Bowls specializes in acai, pitaya, mango, green and coconut bowls, smoothies, juices, cold brew and more.
