The Provident Bank Foundation announced that it’s providing three grants of $10,000 each to nonprofits across New Jersey and Pennslyvania, aimed at helping them serve their missions in the surrounding community.
According to the April 29 announcement, the Center for Nonprofits, the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers and the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations are each getting $10,000 to “support their efforts in boosting the nonprofit community.”
“We are pleased to offer these valuable organizations sponsorships to support their missions, as they positively impact and bring systemic change to nonprofits and philanthropy across New Jersey and Pennsylvania,” Provident Bank Foundation Executive Director Samantha Plotino said in a statement.
The Provident Bank Foundation said it’s awarded $27 million to various organizations since its founding in 2003.
According to their statement, CNJG provides grants to nonprofits that use the funds for racial equity and justice, which includes education and training.
“In the United States, we’ve passed through many milestones when we thought the healing could begin, but the intractable issues of racism still impact our nation’s communities,” said CNJG President and Chief Executive Officer Maria Vizcarrondo.
PANO uses its funds to “support nonprofits through training, best practices, consultation and discount programs.”
“We amplify their impact through research, public policy initiatives and advocacy,” according to its website.
The Center for Nonprofits is using the $10,000 for a four-part webinar series on “trends, strategies and tactics for nonprofits,” which includes “the current nonprofit landscape, financial uncertainty, organizational design, governance, [human resources] issues, sustaining work culture, employee morale, marketing and fundraising.”
“The year-long pandemic has had a significant, alarming financial, and programmatic impact on most New Jersey non-profits, with overwhelming implications,” said Linda Czipo, the center’s president and CEO. “This sponsorship will go a long way in boosting our educational webinar series designed to bring nonprofit leaders together.”
