There’s something to bark about in Bridgewater — Pupcakes and Pawstries Barkery and Shoppe said it recently celebrated its grand opening at Somerset Shopping Center.

The locally owned business – which carries a full line of dog food, treats and supplies – relocated to its new 2,500-square-foot space from Basking Ridge where it has been operating for six years.

The “Barkery” for dogs creates homemade treats using organic and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Selections include custom birthday cakes, “pupcakes,” cookies, Welsh cakes, muffins and more. The store also carries an extensive selection of food, treats, leashes, collars, toys and grooming supplies.

“We really have everything here a pet owner needs for life with their canine companion,” said Paul Puglisi, who owns the store with his wife, Belinda. “Our new store at Somerset Shopping Center is larger and more centrally located. It will allow us to better serve our loyal existing customers while introducing Pupcakes and Pawstries to new patrons in the Bridgewater area and beyond.”

The 219,000-square-foot shopping center is exclusively leased and managed by North Plainfield-based Levin Management Corp. (LMC). Vanessa Fernandez-Kelty, LMC senior leasing representative, arranged the lease.

Somerset Shopping Center is located at the junction of Route 202/206 and Route 28. Pupcakes and Pawstries joins a co-tenancy that includes Christmas Tree Shops, Barnes & Noble, Modell’s, Gap, Eastern Mountain Sports, Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, New York & Co., Rite Aid, Pier 1 Imports, Lane Bryant, Fridays, The Zoo Health Club, and Men’s Wearhouse, among others.
