Sax LLP to open first international location

Parsippany-based Sax LLP will open its first international office – a 12,500-square-foot location in Mumbai, India – the accounting, tax and business advisor announced Oct. 17. 

Expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2022, the new site is part of the firm’s expansion plans, which have grown the company to four offices and nearly 240 employees in 10 years. 

“Mumbai is the financial capital of India, with a rich talent pool of highly qualified accounting and tax professionals,” Sax CEO and Managing Partner Joseph Damiano said in a statement. “We look forward to building an extension of our talented team globally to assist in providing clients with the best possible services and expertise.” 

The new Global Shared Services team will be led by Sax India LLP Country Head Sudeep Sachindranath and will include Head of Human Resources Anuj Dave and Senior Tax Manager Rakesh Parmar.

Sax hopes to hire 50 more professionals by the end of 2022, the firm said. 

Shivani Jain, head of Sax’s tax practice, said this move “provides significant growth opportunities for our firm as we look to expand our footprint internationally.” 

In addition to the Mumbai office, located at Oberoi Commerz 1, Goregaon, Sax recently expanded its domestic presence with the acquisition of New York City-based David Weiss CPA PLLC.
