Shake Shack set to open newest NJ location

Shake Shack is coming to Edison.

The popular burger chain plans to open its newest restaurant Nov. 26 at Menlo Park Mall.

Following a 10:30 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony with members of the Edison Township Council and representatives from the Community FoodBank of NJ, the restaurant will officially open at 11 a.m.

Launched by restaurateur Danny Meyer in 2004 at Madison Square Park in New York City, Shake Shack is known for its hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and hot dogs, as well as shakes and custard floats. It boasts more than 370 locations domestically and internationally.

Within New Jersey, Shake Shake can be found in Paramus, Bridgewater, Cherry Hill, Eatontown, Hoboken, Livingston, Marlton, Wall Township, Parsippany, Ridgefield, Lawrence Township and Wayne.

To celebrate its opening at Menlo Park, Shake Shack plans to give away branded-merchandise to the first 100 guests.

Additionally, in keeping with the company’s larger mission of giving back, Shake Shack said it will donate $1 from every burger or sandwich sold on opening day at the Menlo Park location to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey — one of the state’s leading anti-hunger and anti-poverty organizations.

Shake Shake joins a growing list of 30+ dining options at Menlo Park Mall, including The Cheesecake Factory, Benihana, Smashburger, Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, Melt Shop, Seasons 52, Panera Bread and the recently opened True Food Kitchen.
