Hoboken PATH’s February closures prompt alternative service options
While the station will be unavailable to riders from Jan. 30 to Feb. 25, 2025, for a major renovation project, authorities are offering expanded, cross-honored ferry and bus routes and times.
Weehawken ferry project awarded $6M
NY Waterway Chairman, President and CEO Armand Pohan described the federal funding as "an essential step in ensuring the safety and modernization of our ferry maintenance facility."
NJ receives $13M to improve ferry operations
The grants will fund two projects: one to increase the sustainability of NY Waterway's vessels and another to support construction of a new passenger facility for South Amboy's recently introduced aquatic service to Manhattan.
Long-awaited South Amboy Ferry Terminal begins service
The route is expected to be a boon to the region, moving more than 1,000 daily riders during the week, and eventually some 500 people over the weekends.
Jersey City revives Port Liberte Terminal ferry service
According to Barkha Patel, director of Jersey City’s Department of Infrastructure, "This ferry terminal is the only direct access point to and from New York City outside of downtown."
NJ ferry services receive more than $11M in federal grants
The funding will go toward capital projects for NJ Transit/NY Waterway and Belford Ferry Terminal in Middletown.
