Education provider Tech Elevator announced the opening of its new campus in Jersey City Nov. 29.
According to the company, the location will allow students to connect with its instructors through the online bootcamp with locally focused career and placement support.
All students will also have access to Tech Elevator’s local coworker campus at Industrious.
“With a growing alumni network in Jersey City and New York City, opening a campus locally was an easy decision,” said Anthony Hughes, co-founder and CEO. “We look forward to investing in the success we’ve already seen and elevating the untapped talent in the surrounding communities.”
The Jersey City campus operations will be run by Catherine Tsavalas, who was recently hired as market leader. Her responsibilities include oversight of admissions, student and alumni engagement, event coordination and business development.
“We couldn’t be more excited to launch a campus here in my own backyard of Jersey City,” said Tsavalas. “I’m looking forward to working with our local communities, students, and companies to elevate the tech scene in the N.Y.C. metro area.”
Tech Elevator, which has seven other coding bootcamp campuses around the country, boasts the placement of more than 2,500 students in technology jobs at over 750 companies.

Editor’s note: A previous version of this story indicated that Tech Elevator had placed 2,500 students in technology jobs at over 750 campuses, but it should have said the company has placed students at more than 750 companies; it was updated at 11:19 a.m. EST on Nov. 30, 2022.
