There’s a new place to call home in Jersey City’s Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood with the launch of leasing at a rental building from development partners Alpine Residential and FieldsGrade.
Located at 89 Monitor St., The Hazel offers 114 residences and amenities in a six-story building.
Alpine Residential and FieldsGrades announced the start of leasing at the property this week. According to the developers, The Marketing Directors serves as exclusive marketing and leasing agent for The Hazel, which includes an onsite leasing office and furnished model home.
“This neighborhood continues to attract new residents who see it as an appealing alternative to the towering high-rises and congestion of Downtown Jersey City,” said Alpine Residential Managing Partner Bill Rosato in a statement. “Liberty State Park, with its more than 1,200 acres of public open space and a waterfront walkway, and Berry Lane Park offer a green oasis for relaxation, recreation, and peace of mind, while an ever-growing list of places to eat, drink and shop bolster the area’s unique vibe.
“We’re excited to now introduce The Hazel to Bergen-Lafayette as a modern residential complement to the neighborhood’s charm, convenience and connectivity,” he added.
The developers’ affiliated management company South Oxford Management will oversee the property.
Designed by New York-based Fogerty Finger Architecture, The Hazel’s exterior is punctuated by a façade of gray and green brick with floor-to-ceiling windows—a nod to the neighborhood’s industrial past, according to its developers.
“The Hazel offers an elevated lifestyle experience for residents who recognize the authentic character and convenience of this burgeoning neighborhood,” said The Marketing Directors President Jacqueline Urgo. “We expect this new offering to quickly resonate with the public and become the signature address in Bergen-Lafayette.”
Residences feature upscale finishes including 9-foot-plus ceilings, complimentary window treatments, in-home washers and dryers, custom modular closets and gourmet kitchens. For added space, select units offer a “bonus” den.
The Hazel is pet-friendly, with a host of amenities both in and outdoors. Those include social spaces, an onsite concierge, a rooftop terrace, a Sky Lounge with Manhattan views, a coworking space, a fitness center and more. It also features ground-level retail space.
A unique offering at the property is TuLu. According to The Hazel’s developers, it is an on-demand rental store offering high-quality household and lifestyle products, which will be available specifically for residents.
For getting around, The Hazel offers covered parking, electric car charging stations, onsite e-scooters and bike storage. The building is steps from the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Liberty Park Station and nearby to Interstate 78. The Bergen-Lafayette section of Jersey City is connected to downtown, with bike lanes and sidewalks, via the Liberty State Park Bridge.
Along with green spaces and entertainment and dining options, the Liberty Science Center is situated in the city’s Bergen-Lafayette section, where Alpine Residential is developing the museum’s Scholars Village at SciTech Scity.
