The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors this month elected Verizon executive Eileen Mannion to its board.

The group provides guidance to Chamber staff on policy issues affecting New Jersey’s short- and long-term economic growth. In particular, it focuses on economic development, education and workforce development, environment and energy, healthcare, state budget and fiscal issues, and transportation.

Mannion is a graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law and Monmouth University. Currently vice president of public policy-state & local government affairs, she has spent the past 22 years in government affairs at Verizon. Before joining that company, she served as deputy counsel to the New Jersey Assembly and as assistant counsel in the Governor’s Counsel’s Office.

She is also a longtime volunteer with Unite for Her, a nonprofit that connects women affected by breast and ovarian cancer with integrative therapies and wellness resources.

New Jersey Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Tom Bracken described Mannion as an outstanding leader who will provide valuable counsel and expertise “as we work together to ensure the state reaches its full economic potential.”

“She will be joining a Board with an already impressive group of New Jersey business leaders who contribute to the Chamber’s mission of fostering a dynamic and thriving business environment in New Jersey,” said Bracken.
