BioNJ unveils BioPartnering Conference lineup, details

BioNJ is out with new details regarding the upcoming 14th Annual BioPartnering Conference. On May 14, for the first time, the event will take place at in Jersey City.

The annual BioPartnering Conference is sponsored by J.P. Morgan, Johnson & Johnson and Morgan Lewis. Jersey City Economic Development Corp. is hosting.

The event brings together life science executives, investors, strategists, academic collaborators and business development professionals. It offers one-on-one partnering, “Industry Connections,” exhibits, company pitch presentations, plenary sessions and lots of networking — including a closing reception.

Last year’s conference drew more than 570 attendees from 16 states (and the District of Columbia) and 16 countries. It featured 70 company and startup pitch presentations as well as 22 academic and research institutions.

And this year’s is expected to be even bigger.

Offering opportunity

The 2024 schedule features a slew of notable speakers and thought leaders. It also includes:

  • Presentations from emerging companies;
  • Early-stage startup pitches;
  • A wide variety of exhibitors showcasing valuable resources, products and services; and
  • Availability to connect with professionals from some of the largest biopharma companies.

“The BioPartnering Conference is the ideal chance to discover innovative companies for investment portfolios,” said BioNJ President and CEO Debbie Hart. “We have more than 90 companies from the , biotech, health care and digital health sectors presenting new innovations and technologies. With the One-on-One Partnering System open, attendees can begin scheduling meetings to explore collaboration opportunities.”

In December, announced the move to Liberty Science Center for this year’s BioPartnering Conference. The organization cited the science museum’s ability to offer a spacious, state-of-the-art venue to accommodate the event, along with the innovative spirit that emanates from the facility. In recent weeks and months, LSC has made a number of high-profile announcements stemming from the highly anticipated project.

“We look forward to welcoming BioNJ’s preeminent 2024 BioPartnering Conference to the Liberty Science Center and introducing attendees to SciTech Scity, the 30-acre innovation campus we are now building that will focus on biomedical science, home health care, planet care, and artificial intelligence,” said Paul Hoffman, president and CEO, Liberty Science Center and SciTech Scity.

SciTech Scity will include $450 million of new construction: Edge Works, an eight-story business-creation center with laboratories, R&D spaces, office suites, co-working spaces, a tech exhibition gallery, and a state-of-the-art conference center; Scholars Village, 500 apartments built and operated by Alpine Residential for innovators, scientists, entrepreneurs, and other tech-forward individuals and families; Liberty Science Center High School, a new public magnet STEM high school built by the Hudson County Improvement Authority and operated by the Hudson County Schools of Technology; and Public Commons, three acres of outdoor space for art installations, food trucks, performances, farmers markets, science festivals, and maker fairs.
