[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Boonton-based construction management firm Phelps Construction Group expanded its presence in the Tri-State area with the opening of an office at 245 Saw Mill River Road in Hawthorne, N.Y.

The firm, which led the build of the Statue of Liberty Museum in 2019, announced the expansion Dec. 7. The Hawthorne office will help better meet client needs in the Hudson Valley, where the firm has two ongoing projects: a 13,000-square-foot commercial office renovation and the ground-up construction of new 250,000-square-foot distribution facility.

Additionally, the firm has been working for Subaru Distributors Corp. in Orangeburg, N.Y. on its corporate office expansion and renovations, which includes construction of a 132,000-square-foot warehouse addition that was completed in 2016, and the complete interior and façade renovation of its office earlier in 2021.

The third and final phase of the project entails creating a 70,000-square-foot technician training center including automotive training shops, laboratories, class rooms and additional administrative offices.

“The decision to expand our presence into New York was a relatively easy one,” said Chief Executive Officer Douglas Phelps in a prepared statement. “Over the past several years we have been very successful in the New York market, especially in Westchester, Orange and Rockland Counties.
