Campbell Soup Company on Thursday announced that Adam G. Ciongoli has been appointed to senior vice president, general counsel.Coingoli, who will report directly to CEO Denise Morrison, will be responsible for the Camden-based food company’s legal, secretary and government relations activities.
“Adam brings a diverse and extensive range of experience to his role as general counsel, having practiced law in both the public and private sectors, which will be an asset as we work to reshape Campbell for future growth,” Morrison said in a prepared statement. “I welcome his perspective and look forward to working with him to build on the strong foundation we have established with our legal department.”
Coingoli has more than 20 years of legal experience. He most recently served as executive vice president and general counsel of Lincoln Financial Group. Prior to that, he was the group general counsel and secretary for Willis Group Holdings PLC. He was also senior vice president and general counsel for Time Warner, Europe.
“I am very excited to partner with Denise Morrison and join the Campbell team,” Ciongoli said in a prepared statement. “It is an honor to be able to contribute in a leadership role in the future development of such an iconic and important American company.”
Other previous experiences include serving as the counselor to the Attorney General of the United States, chief counsel to the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on the Constitution, Federalism and Property Rights. He was also a law clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr.
