The Middlesex County Surrogate’s Office is hosting a series of free workshops to expand access to basic estate planning.
Timed to coincide with National Make-A-Will Month in August, the events will help residents navigate the process of creating or updating a will.
Middlesex County Surrogate Claribel Cortes said, “Every day, our office works with families who are navigating the loss of a loved one and we see firsthand how having – or not having – a will can affect the probate process.”
“While estate planning can be difficult to think about, creating a will is one of the most meaningful steps you can take to protect your family. A properly prepared will helps ensure your wishes are carried out, simplifies the probate process, and reduces unnecessary stress for those you leave behind,” she said. “National Make-A-Will Month is the perfect opportunity to start that conversation and make a plan.”
