ShopRite is celebrating its 75th anniversary with two weeks of special savings, digital deals and limited-time offers to thank customers who have supported the supermarket brand for generations.
Promotions at the Wakefern Food Corp.-owned banner include:
Beyond the savings, the chain will mark its 75-year history by sharing stories, recipes and reflections online.
Anniversary content will also appear in stores, on ShopRite‘s social media channels, and through local radio and television advertising. ShopRite also invites customers to share their own memories.
Wakefern Chief Sales Officer Darren Caudill said, “For 75 years, ShopRite stores have been family-owned and operated by grocers who live and work in the communities they serve.
“That local connection has always been at the heart of ShopRite — helping families find more value in every shopping trip, supporting neighborhoods and showing up for customers generation after generation.”
New York Yankees pitching legend Mariano Rivera visited ShopRite this summer to introduce his new brand of hot sauce. Learn more about Mo’s Heat here – named after Rivera’s iconic pitches.
“We’re proud to celebrate this milestone by thanking our customers with the savings, service and quality they continue to count on every day,” he said.
Founded in 1951 by a small group of independent New Jersey grocers in the Keasbey-based Wakefern cooperative, ShopRite has grown into a chain with nearly 280 stores across six states.
At the same time, ShopRite has stayed rooted in its community commitment.
Through its 27-year-old Partners In Caring program, ShopRite has donated $65 million to food banks. The groups support more than 2,500 charities.
Additionally, ShopRite is a title sponsor of the ShopRite LPGA powered by Wakefern. Under that initiative, it has given $47 million to local organizations, hospitals and community groups.
Over the years, the banner has also helped local and regional suppliers grow alongside its member-owned stores. Products from neighborhood bakeries and specialty food producers to family cattle farmers have found a home on ShopRite shelves.
