National Retail Solutions is teaming up with Uber Eats. The new association will bring digital ordering and delivery capabilities to independent merchants across the U.S. and Canada.
The partners recently announced the new collaboration. Small businesses using the Newark-based point-of-sale platform can now offer their customers remote ordering for delivery or in-store pick-up via the Uber Eats app.
NRS President and CEO Elie Katz said, “Independent retailers have long been underserved by the digital commerce revolution. To address this deficit, we’ve partnered with Uber Eats to build a direct point-of-sale connection specifically for our independent retailers.
“Together, we are providing independent store owners with access to the same powerful digital tools used by large retail chains – without added complexity or cost. We are committed to ensuring that independent retailers not only survive – but thrive – in a digital-first world,” he said.
Hashim Amin is head of grocery & retail for Uber in North America. “Independent retailers are an essential part of the neighborhoods they serve, and today’s consumers expect convenient, on-demand access to the local stores they know and trust,” Amin shared. “Through our partnership with NRS … we’re making it easier for tens of thousands of merchants to offer delivery and reach customers in new ways.”
He went on, “We’re proud to work with NRS to help more local retailers grow their delivery business and serve their communities with greater flexibility.”
Last year, NRS also launched similar integrations for online ordering and delivery integration with on-demand platforms DoorDash and Grubhub.
Founded in 2015, NRS aims to help independent retailers compete with chain stores. The business provides affordable POS systems and retail operations technology. Its network of 35,000 locations includes convenience stores, bodegas and grocery stores as well as sundries sellers.
NRS boasts thousands of active terminals across North America. The custom-built POS system includes features such as inventory management, sales tracking and marketing tools.
