Cosmetology school operator Christine Valmy is launching its first accredited course in barbering.
According to the Pine Brook-based brand, the new 900-hour program is designed to equip aspiring professionals with the specialized skills and knowledge needed to enter the field.
Led by expert instructors, the curriculum features a mix of theory classes and hands-on practice in a classroom. CV said students will learn core services, such as:
The New Jersey State Board of Cosmetology & Hairstyling and the Council on Occupational Education (COE), a national institutional accrediting agency, have approved the curriculum.
Upon graduation, students will be ready to take the New Jersey State Licensing Exam as well as pursue their professional goals, according to CV.
The school is now accepting full-time enrollment for the program’s March 3 start date.
According to CV, it will offer classes at its new, state-of-the-art facility in Wayne.
Located at 201 Willowbrook Blvd., the 20,000-square-foot space is the brand’s largest school yet. It includes specially designed classrooms for theory, hands-on practice and clinics for students to deliver spa and salon services to the public.
Established in 1965, CV provides beauty education, skincare treatment methods and natural cosmetic products for personal and professional care. Its education program offers accredited courses in cosmetology & hairstyling, skin care and manicure. Classes take place at CV’s schools in Wayne and New York City.
Peter de Haydu, Christine Valmy’s CEO and the founder’s son-in-law, described barbering as “an incredibly in-demand trade.”
